Because society is changing, because the world we live in is evolving, because every "today" we are different from the ones that we were yesterday, because we now share Napoleon's dream, because we have faith, because we have hope, because we can, because we want to, because we are free people, because communication can solve problems, because we have courage, because we trust ourselves, because we don't forget our promises, because we are responsible and because only together we can succeed, today Europe becomes a United Europe!
Because I can dream, because I always keep close to myself hope and a smile, because I fight a battle till the end, because I am not afraid to win, and because I know how to lose, because I respect what is different, what is new, because I am learning to share my hopes and dreams, because I borrow new dreams, because I know how to take a chance, and in the same time to be cautious, because I can be glad, because I know how to cry, because I like the tumult of the world, because I like my freedom, because I like to travel, because I am a hopeless romantic and because I'll always love Paris, because it takes my breath away when the sun rises in Prague, because I like to dive in the blue of the Mediterranean Sea, because the white of the Greek houses soothes me, because I adore the narrow streets in Italy, because I am fascinated by the murmur of Sicily, because my life would have a sore taste without the German chocolate, because I am proud of Romanians and their ambition to become better, because the first door that I open when I enter a new culture is the kitchen door, because I can't imagine a Europe without the French cheese and champagne, without the Italian pizza, without the German beer, without the Romanian polenta, without the Greek salad, without the Turkish delight, and without the Swiss chocolate, because I like what is beautiful, cultivated and has good sense, because the Louvre inspires me, because I adore the French accent, because I have Da Vinci as a role model in life, because Botticelli elates my spirit, because Michelangelo amazes me, because Beethoven's 9th symphony makes me happy, because by reading Shakespeare I am stealing a little piece of the English spirit, because Bronte sisters taught me the power and the beauty of a woman, because I am strongly convinced that the word 'culture' has been born with Europe, because I enjoy talking, sharing opinions, and in the same time listening, because I don't believe in differences that part, but in differences that unite, and because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world … I am a European citizen!
