Youth, Development and Peace (YDP) 2004

The second Youth, Development and Peace (YDP) Conference started on Sunday morning, September 5, 2004, but most participants arrived to Sarajevo on Saturday. This gave everyone a chance to get to know each other ahead of the conference.

Some participants, like Victor Abongwa and Girault Duvalier Ndamcheu, who traveled from Cameroon, arrived even earlier due to complicated airplane connections.

Some 170 young people from 83 countries and 40 Bank officials, both old and young, gathered at this two-day event to discuss collaboration on issues important to young people. These issues include education, employment, risky behavior and HIV/AIDS, and conflict prevention and resolution.
